Nickels

I just got back from a late lunch at a nearby diner that a buddy and me go to pretty much once a week. After lunch, we always play a game of who can get the nickel closest to the curb in the parking lot. The loser buys lunch the next week. I lost today, but I was distracted.

Two girls from a car parked next to where we were playing rolled down their window and asked if I was JR DIGS. Suddenly, I felt like the spotlight was on me and it screwed up the rhythm of my usually smooth toss of the nickel.

At one point, the one girl yelled out, "Is your show on the air anymore?" and my buddy told them it goes back on the air this Friday at midnight on CH TV.

"Now two more people know your show is on the air," he mumbled to me as he tossed his nickel flush up against the curb.

I guess that's the only way for anyone to find out the show is back on the air. I'll literally have to keep telling people and maybe email them. It was difficult enough to get the show back on the air at all, never mind trying to get a little promotion for it on the network. And I don't see that happening any time soon, which is why it's so cool to hear from people like Michelle in Hamilton, who has been emailing tons of local radio stations and newspapers to see if they will write or talk about the show a little bit now that it is back on the air.

Sometimes a fan emailing a network, a radio station or a newspaper editor has more impact than me doing it myself. I think sometimes people in the media think wow, this guy has fans who really like his show, maybe this is worth writing about.

I guess I should get back to doing some writing of my own here. There is a bunch of details and paper work and stuff like that which has to be done each week for the network, and the last time I checked, I didn't have any assistants or secretaries or people to speak of who can take care of this shit for me, so I should get back to it.

Keep spreading the word guys, I appreciate it.
