THE SEARCH IS OVER!

I found winter guys! Apparently all I had to do was go north two and a half hours because there it was! Below 0 temperatures, lots of snow, frozen lakes and a toasty warm cottage to hang out in all weekend. It was great to relax and do nothin for a couple days except eat, watch a little hockey on Saturday night and then take Emma out for a walk out on the frozen lake between football games.

Winter is great once you find it.The trick is you gotta get out into it and enjoy it. All that cold fresh air really is amazing once you are bundled up so that you don't freeze yourself to death. We are Canadian right? Winter comes every year,it always has and I suspect it always will even though sometimes you have to go looking for it.So why not enjoy it and have some fun this winter. Be careful though, somehow Vic fell face first right into the snow while we were out walking around~

I love getting away and going up to the cottage.I probably like being at the cottage as much in the winter as I do in the summer. It's so quiet this time of the year up there and there are a million gabillion more stars to look at in the winter. The full moon we have had the past few days was amazing. You wouldn't believe how bright it is out on the lake at night with the full moon out.On Saturday night around midnight I took Emma out for a walk on the lake but we didn't get too far.I wasn't exactly 100% sure the ice on the lake was all that thick because I heard they got some pretty warm temperatures up there over the last couple weeks like we have had here in Southern Ontario.I guess I was about 99.9% sure that the ice was pretty solid but if you ever want to freak yourself out a little bit, walk out on a frozen lake in the middle of the night until you hear the ice crack under your feet! I literally crapped myself. It's the loudest sound you could imagine and it's amplified even louder in your head because there's this little bit of doubt about the ice not being as think as you think it is~ Wow!

Needless to say,we didn't venture too far out on the lake Saturday night.

Emma was pretty spooked by the sound of the ice cracking as well but she forgot all about it the next morning. She is hilarious and just in case you don't believe me about finding winter up there, check out this pic of Emma....
