Cleaning Up At The Oscars

I find that while all these awards shows are on television, it’s a great time to clean up around your house. If you turn your television set on like I did earlier tonight in time to watch some of the red carpet stuff and then turn it off after the award show is over, you end up having a huge chunk of time to clean up, dust, vacuum, do your laundry and even fold up all your socks.

It always seems like a good idea to watch these things, but nothing ever unfolds like you want it to. Instead of getting bored waiting for someone to say something interesting on the red carpet, just start doing some of that cleaning you have been avoiding for the past few weeks, or in my case, months!

If you turn the volume up loud enough, you can even walk around from room to room and never miss a thing. Sometimes you might even be in another room and hear something that has the potential to be interesting to you, so you race back to the TV to watch, which now adds an actual element of excitement to the Oscars.

I guess the glamour of Hollywood will always make for potentially interesting television to watch, but if there was ever a reason not watch at all, it would be that Star Jones lady! I really can’t stand watching or even listening to her sucking up to people on television. Half the time, she can’t even think of anything to say, so she just says exactly what she said to the last person she talked to.

Being on television really has nothing to do with how talented you are, which by the way, is why I always thought I could be on it!

Here’s a little footage we shot on Friday with a new character called Dog Boy. Let me know what you think…

Off The Radar

It looks like I'm going to be hanging out here all night doing nothing. I'm feeling a little under the weather with a really sore throat so I'm hoping that if I take it easy all weekend I'll be back up to speed by Monday.
I suppose I'm paying the price a little bit for having too much fun this past week. Last Saturday night around this time I was bellied up to an ice bar in Quebec City. It was the Winter Carnival and there were these bars all up the main street completely made of ice. Here's a picture of one .....

I still haven't unpacked all my stuff and I've been home for a day and a half now so maybe it's good that I'm feeling crappy and am happy to be staying home tonight. That being said, I'm kinda a suck when it comes to feeling sick and I'm sure by the time midnight rolls around I will be feeling completely sorry for myself. The show isn't on the tube tonight, there aren't very many posts on the message board to catch up on and I can't even go to the Comedy Network's message board to read people's posts who are slaggin on me. I guess that's how you know your off the radar! Once people stop ripping you on the internet then I guess that's it. I hope some people show up on Tuesday night though. I'm having a screening of one of my favorite documentary movies call American Movie at the Staircase Theatre in Hamilton. It should be cool seeing the movie on the big screen then I'm doing kind of a Q&A thing afterwards. If it goes well then I'll probably do it again sometime, I just hope I'm feeling a lot better than I am right now.
Smile and be happy everyone.

Last Night On Letterman

Letterman in late night and O'brien bright and early! Ok not so early because Conan is being rebroadcast at 10am which isn't all that early but I'm not that much of a morning guy. I like grooving into the day kinda slow like and winding it up the same way. Last night Letterman spent the entire show talking about Johnny Carson, it was awesome. It's great to be inspired to be working on my show again these days because it's starting to look like I'm going to get it back on the air again in the spring.

Not having the show on the air right now has actually given me a lot more time to do some of the stuff I've wanted to do for a while now but never really had the time for. I'm big into focusing on whatever is good about a situation instead of what sucks about it! It's the only way to hang in there I guess! Especially if what your trying to do is not such and easy thing.

I would love to get back to making the short film we started on a while ago for example, but it's still going to take a lot more time than I have right now. In the past I've been sent other people's scripts, but I never felt inclined to take any of the roles that were offered to me. A part in another short film was recently offered to me so I had a look at the script and I've decided to do it.
I admire these people who make all o fthese short films that no one ever see's in most cases. It's great to have the time to consider getting involved in a few new projects over the winter.

I'm actually going to get an appearance page put on the website to keep people in the loop to what I'm up to over the next few months. I hope to see you all at some point this winter.

This weekend I will be in Quebec City at the Winter Carnival
It's another sunny sunny day out.
