Guess who I ran into today?

Not Darcy Tucker or Grant Fuhr or any of the other hockey players who were at the sports memorabilia show we went to this afternoon.I mean ya, we did see all these guy's but that's not who I'm referring to.

We ran into Kayvon,that's who we ran into! Actually he ran into me,literally!(lol) He spotted me from about thirty feet away and came running toward me like the madman he is!
For those of you who don't know who Kayvon is because you didn't see any of the episodes he was in for some reason,I don't really have a clue how to describe him to you.

Hey maybe that's a fun game to play.Send me an email explaining how to best describe Kayvon and the best description will win the Kayvon Game! I'll call Kayvon and tell him who ended up winning the game and ask him to give the person a personal thankyou as only Kayvon can! I'll record the call and put it here in my blog.

I think I'm going to spend the next couple hours doing some writing and then drive up north later on tonight to the cottage.My folks got home from Florida a week ago and my Dad went straight up north to open up the cottage and get things all set up so that my Mom can go up there in a week or two.I figure that I better help Dad out with a few things up there so that he can't say that I only come up when the work is all done.

I should put some of the footage we shot of my Dad a long time ago on the site here some day.I never bothered to dig it up and air it on my show once I got it on the air because I was being compared to Tom Green way too much as it was that first year or two on the air.Footage of me screwing with my parents heads would have just been way to Tom Green like.That definitely became one of the things he was best known for I think! I do have some truly hilarious footage from back in the day though.Noone but my friends has ever actually ever seen any of that stuff.

Most of the really funny stuff was shot about ten years ago when I was being one of those kids who comes back to live at home to sponge off the parents and piss off the father.One time when my Parents went away to Florida for three weeks, I told my Dad I would re-seed his front lawn for him while he was away.He was surprised and impressed until the little stocks of corn started sprouting up everywhere!!!!!
I planted corn throughout his entire front lawn,it was awesome.I have about twenty seconds of footage that I shot of him losing his mind and then I shut the camera off and ran for my life.(lol)

This blog is starting to turn into more of an entry in my show history page so maybe I'll just keep writing stuff here and actually put it on the show history page.Then it's up to the cottage until Monday morning.That's the plan it looks like.

What To Do Today?

For the last few Saturdays I have been going places to shoot footage for the show because it's starting to look like I'm going to get it back on the air this summer.I'll fill you in on all those details later when I have a little more time.I'm running late right now and need to pick up Russ who is a guy I met a while ago when I was looking for people to help me redesign the website.He made the one that is up and running right now.He also is a pretty good camera guy and since Shane is really busy these days doing a bunch of other stuff and it's getting tougher for him to find the time to go out and run around shooting footage with me ,It's great that Russ is up for going out and shooting stuff with me on rainy Saturdays like this one.

The problem is knowing what to go shoot footage of! Last Satuday we shot some hilarious stuff at a psychic fair but I have no idea where to go today.Maybe that's why I am suddenly so into updating my blog almost every day now.I don't feel any pressure to have to make it funny or the craziest most hilarious thing any of you have ever seen.I don't have to try and be original or different for the sake of being different and more original,I just have to be me! I like that!

That being said,I'm off to shoot some hilarious new comedy segment somewhere????????
I'll let you all know how things turned out a little later.Russ has to be home by 3:00pm which is why I gotta get movin here or we won't have any time to shoot anything today.

BIG NEWS!!!!!!!

Well maybe not really big news but I wanted to tell all of you that I'm back from getting my haircut and everything went fine!(lol)
I just thought I would let you all know that I did in fact shoot some video while I was there as well. I don't have the time right now to put it all on the site here, but if you click here, you can see a little bit of the footage I shot! I have to get a couple more things done here in the next little bit and then I'm going to make some time over the next couple hours to return some of your emails, okay?

Keep Spreading The Word

I'm off to get my haircut right now, which is actually one of the perks of being kind of a local celebrity type person around here, because I get to go to this fancy hair salon place called Keora Hair Salon and get my hair cut for free, cool eh!

Maybe I will take my camera along and shoot some video while getting my haircut today. I was hoping to show all of you the video I shot yesterday of my phone conversation with Andrew, but I still haven't got the right cord that allows us to put footage shot on that old Hi8 camera into the computer. I'll get it done over the weekend and will put the phone conversation on the site next week.

Andrew The Psycho Fan

Andrew has left me a few voicemails because he is concerned about how I'm doing these days. He has only left about nine messages over this past week which isn't even close to the twenty to thirty he usually leaves when he is trying to get in touch with me.

I think he just wants to know if the show is getting back on the air this summer and he said something about taking care of this 102.1 problem I'm having!!!!!

Time For A Sing-Song

Yesterday, after digging up some of that old footage shot in the studio I had built a few years ago for my first season on the air, I got in one of those reflective states of mind.

It's nice to think back to a time when everything still seemed possible and morning radio guys weren't publically bashing you over the airwaves!

As a matter of fact, I spent a few minutes late last night updating my Show History page. I had some thoughts about what was going on back in the fall of 2001 and the winter of 2002 and wrote some stuff out that you can all have a look at, if you're interested. Just click here.

ULTRA Cool

Hey guys, hope you all had a pretty good weekend. On Saturday night, I had the chance to check out Joel Plaskett in a small little bar in Hamilton. He's one of those musicians that came out of that East Coast music scene the same time that bands like Sloan and The Super Friendz did, if you haven't heard of any of these guys, you should check out their stuff sometime.

After the show, I wanted to quick say hi to Joel and introduce myself and tell him that I enjoyed the show. Turns out that he knew who I was and had seen my show, which was kinda cool. He is a really nice guy and I'm glad I got to meet him and listen to him play, he sounded great!

Not like the guy who was honking and screaming at me a few minutes ago in a parking lot. The guy pulled out and almost hit me and then got all mad like I had done something wrong. Whenever I find myself in these kinds of situations, I always try to stay ultra cool and basically screw with people for my own amusement as opposed to stooping to their level and yelling right back at them or giving them the finger which is often what you really want to do in these situations. When I rolled down my window, I'm sure this idiot thought I was going to start screaming back at him, but I just said sorry and kept asking him if he knew where the Indigo Book store was because I couldn't find it. I was told that it was around here somewhere. I kept telling him and the more he yelled at me to move my car so that he could pull out and get to where he was going (in such a rush), the more confused I pretended to be as if I thought he was yelling out directions to me that I wasn't quite following. Some people are just angry, fustrated people, I guess, that's just the way they are!

Maybe that's why Todd and the morning guys on 102.1 lash out at people like me sometimes for no reason at all. They are just angry people who feel more comfortable being mean than they do being nice.

Maybe I should be handling this situation the same way I handled angry man in the silver car today. I think it's hilarious to hear that some of you are calling the radio station and sending them emails, and I guess I need to figure out how exactly I'm going to deal with this situation.

By the way, The Super Friendz later became The Flashing Lights and they appeared on my show in season one. It was very cool!

Hollywood(short pause) Meet JR DIGS

Busy day today guy's! A good one though!

It started out kinda sketchy because I called into The Dean Blundell Show this morning and got hung up on! As soon as I told them it was me on the phone, they hung up! I called back a couple more times but they kept hanging up on me.
Obviously the guy's have no interest in letting me on the radio to defend myself which doesn't suprise me all that much I guess.What's the fun in publicly bashing someone on the radio if there's a chance that they might actually hear about it and then want to challenge you on being a two faced yellowbellied backstabber!

These guy's were so awesome to me back when the show was on the air and they thought my carreer was about to really take off and now I don't even get told to get the hell off the phone,I just get hung up on(lol)!!!!!

After that I had to get into Toronto for a series of meetings.One of them was with one of the most powerfull and important Agents in the Country! It was huge just to get a meeting with this guy.It went very well I think and if he end's up deciding to take me on as a client, it will change everything for me!!! It's a really big deal guy's and I'm super pumped right now!!!!!

This whole 102.1 thing is the furthest thing from my mind at the moment and I want to keep it that way for a little bit! It's been a big day for me and I plan on letting it roll on into the weekend.I'll touch base with you all later ok!

The Time Has Come

Hey guys, it's been a couple days now since the public bashing I took on Tuesday on the radio. I've been thinking a lot about it and I still can't quite figure out why these guys have turned on me the way they have. It's not like I've gone on to become rich and famous and forgotten all about the little people like these radio guys who used to treat me good when I was just starting out!

I would be lying if I said that this hasn't hurt my feelings a little, but it's been more than a little discouraging. Then I get emails from you guys, like this one:

This morning I was up early again and actually thinking about calling Todd on the air, while he was doing the radio show. Then I thought, that's stupid - these guys are on the radio every day, they could just keep bashing me every day if they wanted to. I chickened out and didn't call in.

I've been thinking about phoning 102.1 The Edge tomorrow morning when they take calls from listeners. It would be awesome if we all started doing that!

I unfortunately got my internet cut off for the better part of last week, plus I've been sick on and off for the last couple weeks. In any case, I just got caught up to speed on the whole JR vs. Todd beef (which, by the way, rivals the recent 50 cent vs Game beef, lol). Although I do live in Toronto, I can't attest to listening to Edge102 other than for the odd song...actually, last time I listened to the edge in the morning was a few years back, where you tried pulling in people who were look-a-likes (which btw, very funny, the gary coleman part was great). First, tough break JR, no one needs that kind of shit. I wouldn't mind seeing the footage myself, at least to get a better understanding of the current situation.

Now, the reasons behind him being a dick? Well, I did a bit of snooping around, and it just so happens Todd, the same guy who called you a "wannabe Tom Green" is in fact himself a wannabe JR Digs. Don't believe me? Check this out.

Check out his interview on the street before the Casbys. To start things off, no knows who the fuck he is, and he has to resort to saying "Hey, have you heard of Dean Blundell". Claim to fame? He's leeching off somebody else's name. Not to mention the best comedy he can come up with is calling some fat kid "bubbles" hardiharhar, Todd is a comedic genius (enter puke here). The whole clip is capped off by this douche pointing the mic at people then pulling it away, over and over. Yes, this is comedy at it's worse. YET, Todd still thinks he can bash JR's show? What kinda mental problems does he have? It's obvious he is simply jealous, as can be seen in his attempts at being the next JR Digs. No wonder he is sour about your show's success, and takes pride in it being removed from the air, he's trying to accomplish the same thing. Difference being, he's not remotely funny.

At least a while ago there were some decent people at the edge, like the Brother. He was a good guy. Wasn't stuck up, wasn't a jerk. Just a generally cool guy.

I'll be honest with you JR, I won't be surprised if all three of the fratboys (Dean, Todd, and Jason) are taking pokes at you and your show. They don't appear, or act, or sound like the smartest bunch of guys. I may be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me. Looking at their pictures, can you pick out the smart one? I can't, they all look like the drunken fratboys who talk about many milfs they'd like to bang...

Again, I may wrong, but where there is smoke (Todd), there is generally fire(the rest of the crew).

Keep your head up man, stuff's gotta start going your way sooner or later.

This Ain't Over Yet

These are just a few of the nicer things that I've heard were said about me on The Dean Blundell Show yesterday morning! I still haven't figured out for sure if it was just Todd doing all the talking or not, but I've heard there were other things said as well that I find kind of upsetting.

This bashing of me on the radio yesterday all stems from the encounter I had with Todd from 102.1 on Saturday afternoon, as I've explained in previous blogs.

Going To The Movies

I'm off to see a movie right now! Going to the movies is always a good distraction from doing all the other stuff in life you have to do sometimes.The regular stuff that isn't all the fun,you know,the stuff you don't really want to do but kinda have to do,stuff like trying to find out what crap was or wasn't said about you on a popular morning radio show! That kind of stuff(lol)!

I haven't heard yet for sure what was said this morning on The Dean Blundell Show on 102.1 about me but I'm hearing some stuff that I can't hardly believe! I hope it isn't true but I've made a couple calls and sent emails to both Todd and Dean Blundell to find out .Todd seems to be cool about emailing me back so I hope I hear from him again.I would hope to hear back from Dean as well because I just want to know for sure if what I'm hearing about is true.I'll be shocked if it is..............

Maybe I should just call them in the morning while they are doing their show and taking call's from listeners.

What The Hell!!!

It’s amazing that anyone gets anything done in the television industry because sometimes I think all people want to do is have meetings. I guess I should just be grateful that these people are still even interested in meeting with me. I am, actually!

I’ve had a busy day so far that started pretty early this morning and I’m feeling a little exhausted here this afternoon. Maybe that’s why I’m also a little jumpy right now as well. I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who said he heard that the guys on the morning show at 102.1 The Edge were talking trash about me again this morning on the radio. This isn’t some college radio station either, this is one of the most listened to alternative rock type stations in Toronto. What the hell!!

I’m not completely shocked because if you have been reading my last few blogs, you would know about me running into Todd from 102.1 on Saturday in Hamilton and what happened and why!

So like I was saying, I’m not completely shocked to hear that Todd was talking shit about me again on the radio this morning, but I would be disappointed, confused and totally shocked if the other guys on the morning show were involved in this unprovoked bashing of JR DIGS that apparently happened on the radio this morning.

The Dean Blundell Show is the name of the morning show on 102.1 The Edge, so obviously it’s Dean’s show. He is the first guy to ever get me on the radio and he invited me on his show several times. It was always a lot of fun, he seemed to like the energy I brought to his show and I’ve appreciated his support all these years. Whenever I have run into Dean or Jason, who is the other very talented and funny guy on the morning show. I have always got the sense that they genuinely liked me and thought my show was pretty funny for a low budget little Canadian-made TV show! Especially because of how I got the show on the air in the first place and that I continued doing everything myself all these years.

So like I was saying, I would be shocked to hear that those guys were bashing me on the radio! Todd seems different than they are. He’s always wearing these rock star sunglasses and he seems like the kind of guy who is friendly to your face, but talks about you when you’re not around. We all know people like that, right?

So let me try and find out for sure what was said about me this morning. It was probably just Todd ripping on me a little because I kind of confronted him on Saturday.

You can’t go through your entire life turning the other cheek and being all cool with people that you know aren’t treating you as good as they want you to think they are! I can’t, anyway! No way!

Guess who I got an email From?

I just got home and thought I would have a quick look for any new emails that have been sent to me tonight.Well guess who emailed me? Yep,I got an email from Todd at 102.1 The Edge!

I emailed him earlier to let him know that I had mentioned running in to him on Saturday in my blog.I wanted to tell him about it myself so that he wouldn't hear about it from someone else the way I heard from someone else that he was ripping me on the radio a while ago.Well anyway,he emailed me back!

Like I’ve been saying recently, it’s awesome to be getting so many supportive emails from all of you and if I haven’t gotten back to some of you yet, it’s because I’m really slow on the keyboard and generally pretty bad at returning emails. Last Ditch Pitch

It seems like I’m getting a lot more emails lately, which is pretty cool. I’ll have to find some time later on today to get more of them posted here on the contact page of the website so everyone can read them.

Without the message board up and running, it’s basically the only way for people to be able to read other people’s emails, posts, or whatever you want to call them. I’m actually thinking about printing out a bunch of the emails I’ve received over the last three months from people, so I can take them with me to this meeting that’s coming up at the network. It’s my last ditch pitch to convince them to put the show back on the air this summer, so I’ve got to use everything I’ve got! I don’t think they really understand just how many of you there are out there who would like to see the show back on the air again, so keep those emails coming, the bigger the stack, the better!

It’s good to know I can count on you guys to help me out when and if I need it. Too bad I didn’t come to this realization back when retard, or Re-Todd as he called himself then, was ripping on me on the radio a while ago. I would have told you all to start calling the radio station and defend good old JR DIGS. I’m sure you all would have done that.

I bet that people like Felicia would have had my back for sure! Thanks for the suggestion with regards to the post I made last Tuesday, Felicia. “You’re wiggity-wiggity-wack dog” probably would be a cooler thing to say in that situation and I’ll keep it in mind if I’m ever in that situation again. By the way Felecia, I haven’t forgotten about the email you sent me a long time ago about making a song up about you, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet, maybe later on today, okay?

The Perfect Day

Sunday's are usually the best day of the week I think.Probably not this week though!It isn't all that sunny and warm out today like it was yesterday.Plus yesterday turned out to be one of those amazing adventurous days that just kept getting better and better.It finished up in some cool little Italian restaurant on the strip in Niagara Falls with fifty extra dollars in my pocket which I won at the casino! At one point I was up around $150 but I made one last desperate attempt at turning that into $1500 and it didn't work out!(lol).I was smart enough not to blow all the money I had won earlier though.Like I said, it was one of those perfect days!!!!!!

It was earlier in the afternoon on my way into a well known audio/TV store in Hamilton, that I knew this was going to be an amazing day.The sun was blazing down,it was nice and warm out and in the parking lot on my way into the store I see this guy walking towards me that I recognize.It's the glorified intern dude from the Morning Radio show on 102.1 The edge in Toronto.I've been invited on their morning radio show a few times in the past.One time I dressed up in a dog suit and we shot footage of my trip down to the radio station and we aired it on the show.Most of you probably remember seeing that footage or remember hearing it on the radio that moring.It turned out to be pretty funny and because it was, I was invited back on their radio show a few more times.The one thing I've learned about the entertainment business over the last few years is that when people think your on your way to becoming something big, they treat you very well and with so much respect.Then most of those same people end up being the ones who never return your phone call's or never seem to have time for you like they use to if it looks like your star might not be rising as fast as they thought it would!
Then their are the ones who flat out treat you like shit as soon as they think your not worth sucking up to anymore! People like this glorified intern Todd from102.1 The edge !

When the show went off the air a few months ago it was tough as most of you know. After almost four years,I was pumped to finally have the opportunity to work on making a really funny show that would take me to the next level instead of just focusing on getting out of debt all the time!Making the best show I could was never as important as having to figure out new ways to somehow keep the dam show on the air. That's what most people don't really get about what I've been doing for the last few years of making JR DIGS!It's probably what bothers me the most about everything as well,I just want one crack at making a funny show without all the other stuff to worry about and deal with like I have had to all this time.

So anyway's, you can imagine how disappointed I was when I heard through the grapevine that Todd who is on one of the most listened to morning radio shows in Toronto was totally bashing me on the radio a while back.This was one of those guys who always acted like he was one of my long lost buddies from highschool and as soon as I looked down and out, he was on the radio kicking me to make sure I wasn't going to get back up again!

I remember thinking about emailing him to at least let him know that I heard about the things he was saying about me on the radio and that I thought he was a real jerkoff who should try to remember how much he use to suck up to me when ever he would see me.I had way bigger things to think about and deal with at the time so I ended up letting it be and pretty much forgetting about it.Until yesterday!!!!!

When I saw him I said hi and he was all friendly as he always was to my face.Then I had an idea! I had my camera in the car with me because I take it everywhere these days.I thougth that maybe I should ask Todd to do a quick interview thing with him for my website.Of coarse he said yes because guy's like him will do anything to get on TV or even on the internet apparently.
I guess I was thinking that I could interview him and maybe screw with him for a little bit just for fun.It's not like I was still completely bumbed about him kicking me in the head while I was down a while ago.I really hadn't thought about it in a long long time but screwing with him just a little bit for the website might be fun right. As a matter of fact,it seemed like a pretty dam good idea, everything being considered.

We start the interview for my blog here and at one point he say's some smart ass thing that must have triggered me.F this I thought to myself! I came right out and asked him about what he had done and why he would do something like that.The camera rolled on for the next ten minutes until he just left.It was amazing! It felt so good to confront him like I did and having it all on tape made it even better.

I would love to put the footage on the site here for all of you to watch him squirm but I'm still not sure if that's the right thing to do or not. I can tell you all this for sure.The sun was shining yesterday,it was nice and warm out and running into Todd in that parking was the perfect beginning to what turned out to be an amazing day for me.

Sundays are ususally the best day of the week I think, but I doubt if today will have a chance at being a better day than yesterday was for me! It was one of those perfect day's I tell ya.
I hope all of you are having as good a weekend as I am now having.................I should get out there and enjoy the rest of it now! Later guy's.

The Place To Be

So we finally ended up with a winner to our fun little game and the emails have started coming in from a lot of the regular users from the message board, as you could imagine!

It's kind of inspired our next game, I think! What should the winning prize be? Send your suggestions to me and I'll choose one. I've been thinking a little bit about it myself and I haven't come up with anything appropriate yet, as you will see by clicking here!

My Take On Tom Green

Hey Guy's,I thought that some of you might find it interesting that Tom Green has posted an email I sent to him on his official website www.tomgreen.com ,it's on the email Tom page!

A while back I had emailed him about something but didn't really expect to hear back from him.He's a big star now and I'm just JR DIGS right! well I was pleasantly suprised when he did in fact email me back.I was shocked actually! I thought that it was pretty cool of him to take the time to do that.I don't know Tom and have never actually met him but as most of you know,I have often been compared to him in the past.That's another topic for another blog entry!

I can still remember the time that I met Adam Sandler and how cool it felt that he treated me as good as he did.It kind of felt that way when I heard back from Tom I guess.I hope it feels that way for some of you guy's when I return your emails.
Anyway's,I've actually been reading Tom's book lately and have become more of a fan because of it.That's also another topic for another blog entry.

Tom seems to be getting ripped on by Martin Short a little these days and I guess I thought that I would just let him know a little about my experience with Martin Short.My personal experiences with Tom Green have been very positive and as most of you would know,I could use all the support I can get.Especially from other Canadian's who have already made it big in the bussiness of being funny!

So email Tom Green everyone and tell him your behind him on this one because JR DIGS is behind him on this one.That would be awesome guy's!

The Fun Never Stops

Goodmorning everyone.I just woke up a few minutes ago and need to go grab a coffee and wake up so that I can start groovin into my day here but I thought I should just make a quick blog to say how amazed I am!

The emails are flooding in with people trying to win this little game I have set up for you all to play and nobody has guessed which girl is which yet,I really am amazed!
I thought I would let you all know that we still don't have a winner first thing in the morning here so that you don't assume that someone has guessed it right by now and then decide not to send in your answer!

Let's Play A Game!

I need your help guy's! What's the appropriate response to "ahhhhhh,yaaaaaa,jrdiiigs"? I was just in the park down the street from here drinking my coffee and reading the newspaper.I was contemplating going for a short walk on the trail that goes down to the lake when I hear this guy yell at me from inside a car parked a little ways away.I responded with "hey,how's it going" but maybe there is a cooler thing to say in this situation.I look forward to hearing from some of you on this matter.

Getting emails is great and I really appreciate getting them but when people attach pictures to their emails,that's even better!You can make up games to play with pictures.I was sent this picture just yesterday.



It was taken on Saturday night by one of these girls friends at a party I was at as part of the Canadian Film Makers festival's.So let's play a game now!!!
Two of these girls are aspiring film makers.One of them gave me a dvd with her short film on it to have a look at and the third girl was just there to party! She was a really nice girl who kissed me for some reason after I said hello to her upon being introduced. So the first person to email me and correctly identify which one of these girls is which,win's something.I don't know what yet but you will win something! Fun game eh!

Oh by the way,I've written out some more stuff on the history of this dumb little show of mine.Go to the show history page if you want to check it out.Last time I got up to the Fall of 2000 and now I'm up to the fall of 2001.It's both inspiring and kinda fun to be looking back at how I got to where I am now and then write about it on the site here so that people can read it.It appears that lots of you are as well which is very cool.I'll keep at it.

Meatballs

There was a special sceening of Meatballs today at 11:30am that I was invited to and I missed it. That really sucks!

The Canadian Filmmakers Festival that I have been going to over the last few days is in Toronto and I live in Burlinton. That means that I would have had to leave here by around 10:30am to get to the screening and well, it was kind of a late night last night for me!

Meatballs is one of my fav movies of all time. It was definitely the movie that turned me into a huge Bill Murray fan. He plays the role of a camp program director and the movie was shot at a camp I know very well. Going to camp was a big part of my teenage years! As a matter of fact, up until my third year of university, camp is where I spent my summers making about $100 a week and creating comedy skits and characters for talent nights and camp fire programs! It was really all about trying to make the rest of the staff laugh and being clever enough not to get in crap from the camp director or get fired which was always a possibility because of some of the stuff my friends and I would do! Most of my closest friends to this day are friends I made at camp! Cool eh!

Anyways, I've missed the damn screening and I'm bummed. Maybe I'll have to have my own screening of the film at the Staircase Theatre in Hamilton. That would be cool. All my buddies could come and we could do some of our old skits before the movie. This is actually a really good idea.........stay tuned!!!!!!

I gotta get outside and soak in some of the sun that is finally here to stay, it looks like. I'm going to the closing gala tonight at the festival and I am going to also try and get to the screening of the festival's closing film. It's called "Childstar" and it's directed and written by Don McKellar who is represented by the same agent that I have been in touch with lately regarding representing me.

I have a big shot entertainment lawyer now who is really well known in the world of comedy and my next step is to get an agent or at least that's what I've been told to do. I'll fill you all in on that stuff later, I gotta get outside for a couple hours while the sun is still jammin down!

Schmoozefest, Filmfest

I’m feeling the pressure now! I started posting all these vlog’s on the site here and now a simple picture like I put in my last blog doesn’t quite cut it!

They are way more fun to do and everyone likes the vlogs way more, but they do take a little more time to put on the site. It’s getting a little harder to find any spare time these days as well, which is really the problem!

I spent the last couple of days in Toronto at the Canadian Filmmaker’s Festival, which is affiliated with the Toronto International Film Festival, one of the most popular and well known festivals in the world now. It was cool to have been invited. The festival began with a panel discussion at 10:00am Thursday morning about how to get more people to watch and become aware of Canadian films.

I’m not sure if everyone shared my point of view, but I got a few laughs which is all that really matters, right? Sarah Polley and a few other people well known in the Canadian film industry were on the panel and everyone had lots to say. It actually was quite interesting.

As most of you know, my newfound interest in Canadian film stems from becoming involved in a couple different independent productions over the last two months. Chris Nash’s film is pretty much wrapped up now, and so that I don’t continue disappointing those of you waiting for my next vlog, click here to see some more footage that I shot while acting in his movie! It should be completely cut and finished up by the end of May as far as I know.

And now it’s party time! From now until Sunday night there are parties every night that everyone goes to so they can all schmooze each other. I’ll probably go tonight, but that’s it. I really do have tons and tons of stuff to do over the next couple of weeks.

The Ulcer

I woke up this morning with a weird kind of spaz-tick thing happening with my left eye. I actually shot some video of it that I was going to let you guys look at, but after I watched it myself to see how freaky it looked, I realized that it just kind of looked like boring video of my left eye. The crazy spaz-tick uncontrollable movements of my lower eyelid obviously feel way more intense and huge than they actually look!

It probably has something to do with not getting any sleep last night again. This ulcer I’ve got has been killing me these past few days and the pain in my stomach wakes me up every couple of hours. I eat some cereal, the pain goes away kind of and two hours later it comes back again with enough intensity to wake me up again. This sucks. I’m a total suck when it comes to stuff like pain!

To kill a little time at 4:00am, because I couldn’t fall asleep, I started looking again at a bunch of the old footage we had shot back in the days before I realized that getting this kind of stuff on television for people to see would actually be possible in the future! 1989 was the first year I ever held an actual video camera and was allowed to use it. Shit, that’s a long time ago! Check out the picture:



All this looking back stuff seems to have motivated me to start writing about it for some reason. After meeting with this big shot television producer recently, I’ve realized that I need to start working on my writing skills. So why not start by writing a little about stuff I know about, right? By the end of next week, I’ve got to have a new pilot episode put together as part of a last ditch pitch to the network in the efforts of getting my show back on the air. I guess I’m hoping that all this writing about and looking at the footage I was shooting back in the beginning when it was all for the fun of it, will inspire me somehow.

No time to post a vlog today guys, sorry! I wanted to just quickly say thanks to those of you who have been sending me emails lately. It's great to hear from people and to know that there are still people out there interested in what I've been up to lately.

I hope those of you who were still posting regularly on the message board these last few months aren't too bummed about us taking it off the site for a little while. Until we figure out what to do with it exactly, I thought it was a good idea to just take it down. I think most of you thought it was a good idea as well.

Make sure you email me once in a while though, I'll post your emails on the site if you want. Just make sure to stay in touch, some of you have been posting for a long time which has really been cool.

A wuss like me!

I use to love sleeping in late.I've always been the kind of person who needed at least eight hours of sleep a night and I was pretty good about making sure I got it.When I started making the show four years ago,that all changed!I've always gone to bed late,usually around 1:30 or 2:00am but suddenly I was waking up around 7:00am and I couldn't fall back to sleep so I would just get up and start editing segments for the show again.

This morning when I woke up at 7:45am I couldn't believe it.It's snowing again!Big giant huge snow flakes!I would have shot some video of it to show all of you except that I've been buckled over all morning in pain.Like I mentioned,I really need at least eight hours of sleep and when I don't get it,my body let's me know about it.(lol)
Actually,somewhere along the line I've picked up an ulcer in my stomach and every few months it goes crazy and for a wuss like me,the pain is unbelievable!!

I've seen a couple specialist and have had a few tubes jammed down my throat to look around down there but I've been told that I'm one of those rare cases that can't be identified clearly.Unless I want to have some crazy ass surgical operation to get rid of it,I'm going to have to live with it they tell me.Most ulcers are easy to get rid of these days with a handful of pill's taken each day for two weeks.Apparently mine isn't!

Looking out at these big awesome snow flakes falling to the ground I started thinking.Maybe this ulcer and this unbelievable pain in my stomach right now is meant to be a reminder not to give up on this TV show thing I've been dreaming about all these years.If I give up now,I'll never get this dam Network deal and it will just be this ulcer that I got! That would Suck!

I have to go eat something right now.It usually dulls the pain for a little bit.This has been an inspirational fun to read Saturday morning blog now hasn't it ?
