Watching myself on Tv....

On freezing cold Saturday mornings like this one is, it's nice to roll out of bed and head straight for the couch with a fresh cup of steaming hot coffee in one hand and a piece of toast loaded with peanut butter in the other. Not having Saturday morning Cartoons to look forward to waching any more requires you to start flicking around the dial and thats when I noticed myself on Tv this morning."Be Real with JR DIGS" originally aired last fall where 13 episodes aired in prime time at 7:00pm and although the series got me my first Gemini nomination it didn't end up getting picked up for a second season. The show hasn't been on the air for a while now so I was kinda surprised to see it on this morning.

The episode that was on this morning was one that I don't think I had ever seen before. I didn't have any part in the editting of the series so I always found it interesting to see how each of the episodes ended up being put together considering that we probably shot on average, around 10 hours of footage for each episode. If you guys are interested in seeing a bit of a behind the scenes look at us shooting the series, for sure go to www.berealtv.ca and check out the show extra's page!

Tonight on Global before SNL and on Sunday night at midnight on E! my low budget little latenight show is still o the air but I'm not sure what episode is airing this weekend to be honest. I've been away this past week and I'm a little out of the loop.

Have a great weekend everyone.

The interesting week ahead...

Over the next few days and for sure by next Friday, I will have a much clearer idea of what I will be doing for the next three months and where I will be doing it. I just finished packing enough stuff in a suitcase for the week and I'll be jumping on a plane Saturday afternoon to go find out if an incredible new opportunity for me is going to pan out. You never know with stuff in this stupid ass entertainment industry so there is no point in babbling on about anything until it's for sure worth talking about.

The only reason I'm even blogging about going away at all is because I probably won't be on facebook at all this coming week and I guess I don't want people to think I'm getting lazy or bored with it. If anything, I'm into it way too much these days but I like staying connected with people who have been watching the show I guess.

Speaking of the show, make sure to tune in this weekend. Ed the Sock and Leanna K are on the show and it's a pretty good one. It air's Saturday night on Global before SNL and again on Sunday night at midnight on E!

Later guys, have a great week.

Bla bla,bla,bla,blogging!

I feel less and less interested these days in blogging about stuff on my website and more often inclined to go to my facebook page to read people's post, respond to their messages or just check out pictures people may have put on facebook.

Today I noticed that Meredith had tagged me in a picture that was taken last summer when I was shooting "Be Real with JR DIGS". It was cool to be reminded of being out on the road with a bunch of awesome people shooting a tv series. I miss those guys! Being out on the road was fun. Getting paid to work on a network produced series was fantastic. Getting nominated for my first Gemini Award for "Best Host in a lifestyle series" for my work on that series was a shock. I wish I could say that I was just as surprised by how little it ended up actually impacting my life.

For a bit there I suppose I thought maybe I might actually end up getting an article or two written about my first Gemini nomination and that it might just lead to a few more opportunities to work on other new series. Nope!!!!(lol)

This is the part where I stop myself before I say stuff that will for sure come back to bit me in the ass three weeks from now.

It took me over five years of grinding it out to finally get a chance to work on a network produced series with a budget. If I buckle in again who knows, maybe it will only take me three more years to get to work on another network series!(lol) Like I was saying earlier, it was a blast working on "Be Real" and being on the road was too much fun.

So now what?

Driving into Toronto last week to meet and interview Dane Cook I came to the realization that I'm probably never going to want to do anything ever again other than try and make a Tv show. Ya I might never get another chance again to work on a network show with a budget, who knows but maybe it doesn't even really matter. Who am I kidding, for sure it friggin matters but what I mean is, maybe it's the grinding it out part that will eventually lead me to doing the kind of show I really should be doing. What if driving around in this crappy old van that keeps breaking down on my way to meet and interview people for my show turns out to be an interesting half hour of television. Sure it sucks being stuck on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere in Northern Ontario waiting for the van to cool down and start again but it's better than trying to pull off and pretend I have a real Tv show and doing everything I can each week to prevent people from knowing my show sucks and I hate every minute of everything I'm doing!

Besides that thanks to Dane Cook, I've kinda got a new theme song now. Wait until you guys here the song he just made up on the spot all about the van. It's funny!

Guess who else has now agreed to come on the show or, what I'm calling my show these days? I just found out today!

PIGS-DIGS & DANE!

I'm loading up the van in a few minutes and heading into Toronto to hook up with Dane Cook. His publicist just called me and after a few weeks of trying to set something up so that I could get Dane on the show, it looks like its now for sure happening which is awesome.

If you are not one of the people heading down to a pretty much sold out ACC tonight to see Dane perform live and you live in the Burligton/Hamilton area, go see PIGS! The director and writter/producer of the film are friends of mine who have waited a long time to get this film into theatres!

I watched the movie last weekend and thought it was really funny. It's showing in Burlington and the Showcase Theatre for one more weekend so go check it out tonight otherwise I'll see you down at the ACC!
